Vivek Ranadive was born on 7th October, 1957 in Mumbai, India. He is a well known businessman and engineer, the founder of multi-billion dollar company TIBCO Software Inc. His ideas of computerization gained him international fame and wealth. More, Vivek is a speaker, author of books and a philanthropist. In addition to this, he leads the group of owners who possess the NBA basketball team of the Sacramento Kings, and was one of the owners of the Golden State Warriors team (NBA), the first Indian national to be so involved.

Vivek Ranadive was born and raised in Mumbai, India. Since early childhood, he was ambitious and dreamed about studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He pursued his dream and achieved it, though lots of people doubted it could come true. However, the beginning of his studies was rather tough, as he landed in Boston, having a quarter to pay for the tuition and $100 for a living. He graduated with Bachelors and Masters degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and later earned a Masters degree at Harvard University. Being a student of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he founded a consulting company called UNIX. After the graduation he took the position of manager and engineer at Fortunate Systems and the Ford Motor Company.

What is of most importance is that Vivek has created a revolution in Wall Street. In 1985 Vivek Ranadive founded the company titled Teknekron Software Systems. He was the first to evolve the idea of the software bus which was expected to computerize Wall Street. It was the first platform used for Wall Street trading in automation. Vivek managed to create the idea of computerization of financial markets which earned him millions as well as recognition, fame and money. Furthermore, Ranadive founded TIBCO Software Inc. in 1997. After two years the revenues of the company reached $100 million and it has grown up to $920 million per year in 2011. In 2014, the company was sold for $4.3 billion to Vista Equity Partners. Ranadive’s achievements in business and technology were honoured and rewarded as follows: he was titled Ernst & Young Software Entrepreneur of the Year in 2002, received Wharton Infosys Business Transformation Award (WIBTA): North America Technology Change Agent Award in 2005 and was named South Asian CEO of the Year by the South Asian MBA Association in 2008.

Ranadive has published business books including “The Power of Now: How Winning Companies Sense and Respond to Change Using Real-time Technology” (1999) and “The Power to Predict (2006) which were widely used in universities and discussed up to the present. In addition to this he has published his articles in the international business and computing press.

Vivek has been married to Deborah Addicott, however, they divorced. The family has three children. Currently, he is single.
