Ty Pennington Net Worth

Date:

Gary Tygert Burton's Net Worth as of 2024
$10 Million

Gary Tygert Burton was born on 19th October 1964, in Atlanta, Georgia USA, and as Ty Pennington is a carpenter who then became famous thanks to the TLC reality show “Trading Spaces”. He also works as a television host, and so is now a popular TV star, all parts of a career which began in the 1980s.

So just how rich is Ty Pennington? Sources estimate Ty`s net worth at over $10 million, owing his well-being to both his furniture businesses and his television career. The media has estimated Ty`s salary from ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” at $75,000 per episode, but he consistently adds to his net worth from the line of furniture manufactured by the Howard Miller Company, other television shows and appearances, endorsement deals, and from sales of his book and magazines. His net worth is therefore very likely to increase.

Ty Pennington Net Worth $10 Million

Ty’s mother is Yvonne Burton, a school psychologist, who married Roy Pennington after divorce from Ty’s father. Ty has a bachelor’s degree from Atlanta College of Art, where he studied graphics design, but largely achieved his carpentry skills by himself. While he was a student, Ty also worked as a model, and had  the chance to travel and meet influential people in the entertainment industry. As a model, he worked with important brands such as Coca Cola, Levi’s, Bayer, and Macy’s, and travelled across Europe and Asia as well as North America, all of which laid the basis of his net worth.

Ty also found work ion designing film sets, which is how he eventually came to participate in the television show “Trading Spaces” in 2000,  then Ty became the host of the ABC`s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”, aired until 2012. He hosted “Growing America: A Journey to Success”, and produced several television movies, including “Great Big American Auction”, “Ty’s Great British Adventure” and “Ty’s Great British Adventure 2011. Fans could also see him in numerous other television shows and series, including “Makeover Manor”, “The Revolution”, and “Inside the Box with Ty Pennington”. He was an important part in the TNT show “On the Menu”, but clearly constantly in demand for his varied talents both in front of the camera and – literally – behind the scenes in the entertainment industry. In 2015, he started a new project, being a host in the show “American Diner Revival”. His net worth was still rising steadily.

As a writer, Ty Pennington launched his first home improvement editorial project in 2003, as a do-it-yourself guide called “Ty’s Tricks: Home Repair Secrets plus Cheap and Easy Projects to Transform Any Room”. In 2007, he produced the first number of the magazine “Ty Pennington at Home”, which includes a series of advice and techniques described by Ty Pennington for do-it-yourself projects, decorations, home improvement and furniture construction. His second book, “Good Design Can Change Your Life: Beautiful Rooms, Inspiring Stories” was published in 2008. All these projects have contributed to his rising net worth.

Ty Pennington also owned the company Furniture Unlimited, and gave his name to a line of products designed and manufactured by Sears. The Ty Pennington Style line is a part of the Sears American Dream Campaign, and includes special designs for furniture, bedding, bath accessories, and a full range of home decorations. He also collaborates with Lumber Liquidators Inc. for a line of hardwood flooring. His net worth has increased consistently with these projects.

A part of Ty Pennington`s net worth also comes from endorsement deals. In 2008, he became the spokesperson for Abbott Nutrition, then promoted the baby formula Similac Simple Pac, and participated in the campaigns for Similac Custom Nursery Design Contest, and for Ty’s Nursery Guide.

In his personal life, Ty Pennington was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 17, so unsurprisingly he is involved in several charity projects, mostly dedicated to helping children with disabilities. The television star lives in a house built by himself, with his partner of over 12 years, Andrea Bock. His home, located in Flagler County’s The Hammock, Florida, was built using the latest technologies, which include energy saving LED lights and a boat dock with a solar lift. Ty shows no signs of slowing down in his career, but then, his work also seems to be his pleasure!
