Toni Collette Net Worth, Biography, Wiki 2017-2016

Toni Collett (sic) was born on the 1st November 1972 in Blacktown, New South Wales, Australia and is an actress and singer known for such roles as Lynn Sear in the film “The Sixth Sense” (1999), Sheryl Hoover in the film “Little Miss Sunshine” (2006) among many others. She is the winner of Golden Globe, Emmy and Australian Film Institute Awards, having been active in the entertainment industry since 1990.

How much is the net worth of Toni Collette? It has been estimated by authoritative sources that the overall size of her wealth is over $15 million, as of the data given in early 2017. Acting is the main source of Collette’s fortune.

Toni Collette Net Worth $15 Million

To begin with, Toni Collette is the daughter of Bob Collette, a truck driver of American descent, and Judy Collette, a messenger company worker, the eldest of three children. Toni began her career as an actress in high school, creating roles in various student theatre plays. Later, she enrolled at the National Institute of Dramatic Art of Sydney, but after studying two courses, she dropped out to pursue an acting career directly.

She rose to fame starring in the film “Muriel’s Wedding” (1994) directed by P. J. Hogan, having to add eighteen pounds in seven weeks, and for which performance she won a Australian Film Institute Award as well as being nominated for a Golden Globe. Later, the Australian actress made her debut in Hollywood, starring alongside Gwyneth Paltrow and David Schwimmer in the film “The Pallbearer” (1996) directed by Matt Reeves. After appearing in films such as “Emma” (1996), adapted from the novel by Jane Austen and directed by Douglas McGrath, and “Velvet Goldmine” (1998) directed by Todd Haynes, Toni took part in the thriller “The Sixth Sense” (1999), which became the sensation of the year, and for which she was nominated for an Oscar. She was also noticed after landing the role of Sheryl Hoover in the acclaimed film “Little Miss Sunshine” (2006). Her net worth was rising nicely.

Moreover, she participated in the series produced by Steven Spielberg “United States of Tara” (2009 – 2011) in which she played a family woman with dissociative identity disorder. Afterwards, she starred in the remake of the comedy horror “Fright Night” (2011), in which she played the mother who falls under the spell of the vampire. Recently, she created the lead role in the comedy drama “Miss You Already” (2015) by Catherine Hardwicke, starred alongside Angourie Rice in the drama film “Jasper Jones” (2016), was in the main cast of the action film “xXx: Return of Xander Cage” (2017), and appeared in many other feature films. Currently, she is working on the set of the upcoming films “Unlocked” and “Madame”, adding more to her net worth.

Finally, in the personal life of the actress, Toni Collette is a vegetarian; she practices yoga and is fond of making spiritual trips to India. She married at the beginning of 2003 to Dave Galafassi. Previously she was a sentimental couple with the actor Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, her casting partner in the film “Velvet Goldmine” (1998).

#Quote
1 I've always been a working actor. Big difference. I'm not interested in promoting myself or being famous. Don't get me wrong, I like getting tables at restaurants that have been booked out for months. But I don't want people to identify with me instead of the character I'm playing.
2 Travelling's so much better when you know you've got a lovely home to go back to. I can just enjoy it for what it is, without depending on it too much.
3 Sometimes life hits you on the head with a saucepan. But I'm not here to talk about saucepans.
4 The better you know yourself, the better your relationship with the rest of the world.
5 I find it strange that actors are on the covers of magazines. When I watch a movie, someone's beauty isn't what engages me, it's what's going on internally. And I imagine it's what the audience thinks, too.
6 I don't know that I want to do it forever. When it gets too much, I just walk the beaches of Sydney and get calm again. You just grab your surfboard, splash in those waves and feel happy to be alive. That's what really matters.
7 My family, my relationships with my friends, my home and my music are the most important things in my life. I like being married, but it was never something I felt I had to do. Women in the States seem to think 'I gotta meet a man, I gotta get married'. I don't get that, I was getting on with my life and having a great time. I really did not expect to meet my husband and it was probably the best surprise of my life. It is everything, it's fun, comforting, it makes me feel so safe and centered.
8 I'm very happy with my lot. I like the variety I get. You don't want to spend your life repeating yourself. It's true of any kind of artist, you want to explore as wide and far as you can go, so that's what I've been trying to do.
9 I'm an actor not a movie star. I prefer it that way. I think when you watch big stars on screen; it's really difficult to look beyond that very familiar persona. As an actor, you can play different characters and not be recognized. I know I've got parts that other bigger, more famous actors wanted. I think in some cases their fame is a hindrance because they're too identifiable.
