His career started in 2008 and ended in 2013, after which he started writing, and currently works for HBO as a writer of the TV series “Ballers”.

Following his matriculation, Rashard continued his education at the University of Illinois, where he also continued to play football, and in three years appeared in 35 games for the University football team, and recorded 2539 rushing yards and scored 22 touchdowns.
Following his successful years at university, Rashard declared for the 2008 NFL Draft, and was selected as the 23rd overall pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He signed a contract worth $12.55 million over five years, which marked the start of his professional career and his net worth.
In his debut season Rashard couldn’t get accustomed to the faster pace of the NFL games, and as a result he only played in four games, and didn’t record a single touchdown, with only 58 running yards. He couldn’t regain his form in 2012 and was suspended by the team’s officials, and his contract wasn’t renewed.
Instead, he signed a contract worth $2.5 million over one year with the Arizona Cardinals, and scored 8 touchdowns with 687 rushing yards. After the season ended, Rashard decided to retire; his decision left the whole world in a daze, since he was only 26 years old.
He then started his writing career, and so far has written the sports comedy “Ballers”, aired on HBO since 2015, starring Dwayne Johnson, John David Washington and Omar Benson Miller.
