Known equally for her multiple Top Ten hits as for her various charitable initiatives, it is no surprise that Newton-John is one of today’s best known – and richest – professional entertainers.

So just how rich is Olivia Newton-John? Sources estimate that Olivia has a net worth of $40 million, accumulated during her more than 40 years in the entertainment industry.

Olivia Newton-John Net Worth $40 Million

Olivia Newton-John was raised largely in Melbourne, Australia.  Newton-John’s first dabbles in singing and performing came early – aged fourteen, Olivia was briefly part of “Sol Four”, an all-girl group she helped found. Though the group did not last long, and performed mainly in a cafe owned by Olivia’s brother-in-law, it was enough to get her noticed for the first time, and Newton-John would soon become a regular guest on local radio and television. After winning an Australian talent show, Olivia Newton-John would have the opportunity to transfer her career back to Great Britain, and though initially reluctant to remain there, Olivia soon changed her mind when she was joined by her duet partner, Pat Carroll. Performing locally for a time, Newton-John was soon noticed by the American music producer Don Kishner.

By 1974, Olivia Newton-John was well on her way to becoming a global celebrity. Newton-John’s first album, “If Not For You”, was released in 1971 and featured Olivia’s first hit single, “All Things Must Pass” – on which she had worked with the famous American musician and songwriter Bob Dylan. A number of Top Ten singles followed after her successful debut, culminating with her representing the United Kingdom in the 1974 “Eurovision Song Contest” – where Olivia ended up losing to the hit Swedish band “ABBA”, but became popular in the US in the same year, even besting the likes of Dolly Parton to become the Country Music Association’s Female Vocalist of the Year in 1974. In the years to follow, and despite a brief drop in popularity, Olivia Newton-John’s success would soar to new heights, being awarded several Grammies andOlivia ended up with ten #1 ranked singles in the US, which certainly contributed to her growing net worth. Finally, in 1978, Newton-John debuted as an actress in the film adaptation of the musical “Grease”, for which she was personally picked by producer Allan Carr.

Olivia Newton-John continues to participate in tours across the world to this day, including an Asian tour in 2012 that took her from Japan to Sri Lanka. Overall, apart from releasing countless singles, Olivia has released 25 studio, four live and 20 compilation albums, contributed to several flim soundtracks, and appeared in more than 30 films, often in cameo roles as herself.

In her personal life, Olivia Newton-John was married to actor Matt Latanzi(1984-95) with whom she has a daughter, and married her second husband  John Easterling in 2008. Olivia is well known for her charitable nature, often donating to various causes in particular cancer research having been successfully treated for breat cancer in the early 1990s, and releasing a charity album to support several foundations in 2012.

1(explaining why she chose to go public with her breast cancer diagnosis, and forestall any press leaks) I am making this announcement myself, to save enquiring minds ninety-five cents.
2My cancer scare changed my life. I'm grateful for every new, healthy day I have. It has helped me prioritize my life.
3To me, luxury is to be at home with my daughter, and the occasional massage doesn't hurt.
