Nigel Lythgoe was 10 years old when he became interested in dancing, beginning with began tap dancing, and studying at the Hylton-Bromley School of Dance and Drama, followed by the Perry Cowell School of Dance both on Merseyside, which included classical ballet, ballroom, modern jazz,  and national dance from several countries. Nigel Lythgoe opened his net worth account as a professional choreographer in the late 1960s, and in the 1970’s he worked with such dancers as Cyd Charisse, Shirley Bassey, Gene Kelly and Ben Vereen, which activities provided a solid basis to his net worth.

Nigel became the only person to be a dancer, choreographer, producer and director of the Royal Variety Performance, and then Nigel became interested in using choreography on television. It was a very perspective area and Nigel has added much to his net worth as up to date he has choreographed more than 500 shows on the small screen, so much so that in addition, in 1995 Lythgoe became the Head of Entertainment and Comedy at London Weekend Television, which saw a significant boost to his net worth over the coming years.

In 2000, Lythgoe judged the talent show series ‘Popstars’, on which he earned the nickname Nasty Nigel because of his sharp remarks to the contestants.

As a producer, Lythgoe has increased his net worth after his successfully produced projects such as ‘The Next Great American Band’, ‘So You Think You Can Dance’, ‘All American Girl’, ‘American Juniors’, ‘American Idol’, ‘Pop Idol’, ‘The Brian Conley Show’, ‘Superstars of Dance’, ‘Idol Gives Back’, ‘CMT’s Next Superstar’ and many other shows.
