Nicholas Aaron Young was born on 1 June 1985, in Los Angeles, California, USA. He is a professional basketball player known for being in the National Basketball Association’s(NBA) team the Los Angeles Lakers roster. Prior to joining the NBA, he also played college basketball for the University of Southern California Trojans. His career in basketball has raised his net worth to where it is today.

Young started playing basketball when he attended Cleveland High School in Raseda, California. He averaged around 10.8 rebounds and 27.2 points during his senior year and earned first team honors. He was also named the seventh-best player in the country by HoopScoop during 2004. From 2004-2007 he attended college at USC and opted to play for the Trojans, earning All-Pac-10 First Team honors twice in two years. In 2007, Young led the Trojans to the Sweet Sixteen, winning against Arkansas and Kevin Durant’s Texas Longhorns, eventually losing to the North Carolina Tar Heels. Nick decided to forgo his senior year to join the 2007 NBA draft and was selected as the 16th overall pick by the Washington Wizards.
Nick’s first NBA career game was against the Sacramento Kings, during his rookie year he would later go on to score a career high 43 points against the same team. He was involved in an issue surrounding Gilbert Arenas’ possession of firearms in the locker room. Young was found making gun gestures with a few teammates and was fined $10,000 for the antics. He played for the Wizards for five seasons until he was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2012. In his only season, he helped the Clippers reach the play-offs for the first time in six years, but his contract ended soon after.
He eventually signed a one year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, but had an uneventful season, and the following year, he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, and would record career-highs in points per game and assists. By the next year the Lakers and had Nick signed to a four-year $21.5 million contract which significantly boosted his net worth. He missed the first 10 weeks of the 2014-2015 season due to an injury with his right thumb, but later he would go on to make a season high 29 points against the San Antonio Spurs.
Aside from basketball, Young has been involved in a documentary called “Second Chance Season”, which focused on his career, exploits, successes and failures.
In 2013, there were rumors about Nick Young dating Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, and they announced their engagement in June 2015. Nick’s cousin is rapper Kendrick Lamar, and Nick also carries the nickname “Swaggy P” which is another term for “The Prophet of Swag”.
