Maurice started his career in 1955, joining the rock and roll group the Rattlesnakes with his brothers and a few friends. After two years, they started to perform at a local cinema and gained local popularity. The following year, Gibb immigrated to Australia with his family and they would soon form the Bee Gees. The first single they made was “The Battle of the Blue and the Grey” which failed to chart, then he appeared as a multi-instrumentalist on the song “Claustrophobia”.
