Lou Adler Net Worth, Biography, Wiki 2017-2016

Lou Adler was born on 13th December 1933, in Chicago, Illinois USA, and is a Grammy Award-winning record producer, songwriter, film director and producer, who is also known as a co-owner of the cult Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood, California. Adler was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006, while in 2013, Lou was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame. His career started in 1958.

Have you ever wondered how rich Lou Adler is, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Adler’s net worth is as high as $100 million, an amount earned through his successful career in the music and film industries.

Lou Adler Net Worth $100 Million

Lou Adler grew up in the Boyle Heights section of Los Angeles, California, and started his career as a co-manager of song duo Jan & Dean, alongside Herb Alpert; with the latter he quickly moved from managing to songwriting, and wrote such hits as “River Rock” for Bob “Froggy” Landers, “Only Sixteen” for The Cough Drops, and “Wonderful World” for Sam Cooke. His net worth was well established.

Adler subsequently founded Dunhill Records in 1964 and served as a President and chief record producer of the label until 1967, when he sold Dunhill for a reasonable profit, and then founded Ode Records, to which he brought Carole King, Spirit, Cheech & Chong, and Scott McKenzie, among others. Lou worked as a producer on all King’s albums with Ode, and earned two Grammy’s in 1972 for “Tapestry” in the categories Record of the Year and Album of the Year. The album sold over 25 million records worldwide, helping Adler to increase his net worth significantly.

In 1968, Adler produced a documentary called “Monterey Pop”, and later Robert Altman’s comedy “Brewster McCloud” in 1970. In 1975, he created Jim Sharman’s musical “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, and Barry Bostwick; the movie grossed almost $140 million with a budget of just $1.2 million, which significantly improved Adler’s wealth.

Three years later, Adler directed and produced the cult comedy “Up in Smoke” with Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, and among Adler’s other mentionable movies are “Shock Treatment” (1981), “Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains” (1982), Edward James Olmos’ “American Me” (1992), and most recently, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let’s Do the Time Warp Again” (2016), which have increased further his net worth.

Regarding his personal life, Lou Adler had an on-off marriage with actress and singer Shelley Fabares from 1964 to 1980; while they were separated, in 1973, Adler had his first son named Nic Adler with actress Britt Ekland. He fathered another son, Cisco Adler in 1978 with Phyllis Somer, but in 1992, Loud married Page Hannah and has four sons with her: Manny, Ike, Pablo, and Oscar. In 1976, along with his administrative assistant, Alder was kidnapped and later released after $25,000 in ransom money was paid. One of the suspects was later sentenced to life in prison. Adler can often be seen at the Lakers basketball games, sitting next to Jack Nicholson.
