Karan Johar Net Worth $200 Million

So just how rich is Karan Johar? Sources have reported that the overall amount of Karan’s net worth is $200 million, the majority of his wealth coming from his film-making activities.

Karan Johar’s father, Yash Johar, is a well known Indian film producer, and his mother, Hiro Johar, is the founder of Dharma Productions. Karan was educated at Greenlawns High School and afterwards graduated with a Masters degree from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics. Karan debuted as the film director and writer with the all-time blockbuster film “Kuch Kuck Hota Hai” (1998) which won eight Filmfare Awards and the National Film Award for the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, a very successful and promising start to his career, and a significant start to his net worth. Karan continued at this pace, and created a number of films which received awards at the Filmfare Awards, including “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham” (2001), “Kal Ho Naa Ho” (2003), “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna” (2006), “Wake Up Sid” (2009), “We Are Family” (2010), and “Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu” (2012). At the beginning of his career, Karan was interested in numerology and created the titles of films according to it: the first letter of the title and one more word began with the letter K, however, after some time he ceased this idea. Regardless of this quirkiness, all the above films added to Karan Johar’s net worth.

Currently, he is working on the upcoming films “Brothers” (2015) which is co-produced with the Lions Gate Entertainment, “Ayan Mukerji’s Untitled Next” (2016), “Shuddhi” (2016) and “Ram Lakhan” (2016).

Since 1995, Karan Johar has appeared on the big screen as the actor. His debut was in the role of Rocky in the romantic drama film “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge”. Afterwards, he appeared in various films mostly in cameo roles. Karan has been rewarded at the National Film Awards and the Filmfare Awards, including four IIFA Awards, two Apsara Film & Television Producers Guild Awards, two Screen Awards, three Zee Cine Awards, and the Stardust Award.

Karan Johar was inducted into the list of 250 Global Young Leaders at the World Economic Forum in 2007. He also was the first filmmaker from India who participated in the competition of Miss World as a jury member. Karan Johar was also honoured by being invited to the London Olympics for the opening ceremony together with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh: they were the only two people invited from India.

Karan Johar has not been married. It is reported that he is currently single.

#Quote
1I've just gone through a life changing experience. It's called Black. Mr Bachchan's performance is the best I've seen by a male actor. And Rani! My God! When I remember how I used to scream instructions at her during Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, I wonder what I was doing. Rani has not just surpassed her contemporaries but almost everything done by actresses in our cinema in the last fifty years.
2[Rani Mukerji] is an amazing talent who has become one of our finest actresses. I feel proud to have been part of that process.
3About Hrithik Roshan: Hrithik is obsessed with his work. We all are, but while all of us give 100% he gives 300%.

3For a period of time, Johar followed numerology, creating film titles in which the first word and a number of others in the title would begin with the letter "K." After watching Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), which was critical of numerology, he decided to stop this practice.
