At an early age, he showed an interest in acting, and during studies he became a member of local community theater, also appearing in school productions. He then enrolled at Nassau Community College, from which he graduated with a degree in Theater in 1978.

As early as 1981, his professional career began to soar, as he was selected to appear in the TV series “That’s Incredible”, and after that he was cast in shows such as “The Merv Griffin Show”, and “The Tonight Show”. After those initial appearances, John was offered a contract by FedEx which he accepted, and made his first commercial for the company which earned him the Clio award for the Best Performance-Male, and also was the reason for his nickname which has stuck throughout his entire career – “Motormouth”. Since then, John has made more than 700 TV and radio commercials for such companies and products as ABC, NBC, Burger King, Quality Inn, Northwest Airlines, Olympus Camera, Minute Rice, Post Cereals and many others, all of which added to his net worth. The franchise film was then turned into a TV series, in which John also took part as Blurr, from 1986 to 1987 in “The Transformers”, and again from 2008-2009 in “The Transformers: Animated”. All these added a lot to his overall fortune.

Some of the other titles in which John has appeared include “Blankman” (1994), “Sesame Street” (1985-1988), “Acting Out” (2012), and most recently he was featured in the TV series “General Hospital” (2016), which also added to his net worth.
