John Entwistle Net Worth, Biography, Wiki 2017-2016

John Alec Entwistle (9 October 1944 – 27 June 2002) was an English musician, songwriter, singer, film and music producer, who was best known as the bass guitarist for English rock band The Who. He was the only member of the band to have formal musical training. His aggressive lead sound influenced many rock bass players. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Who in 1990.John Entwistle's instrumental approach used pentatonic lead lines, and a then-unusual treble-rich sound ("full treble, full volume") created by roundwound RotoSound steel bass strings. He was nicknamed "The Ox", as well as "Thunderfingers" – because his digits became a blur across the four-string fretboard. In 2011, a Rolling Stone reader poll selected him as the greatest bassist of all time. The Biography Channel has declared that John Entwistle is considered by many to be the best bass guitarist that ever lived, and that it is often said that he did for the bass what Jimi Hendrix did for the guitar. Looks like we don't have John Alec Entwistle salary information. Sorry!

#Fact
1 He was considered for bassist in the Moody Blues when they were looking for new one.
2 Son of Queenie Johns.
3 Entwistle earned the nickname, "The Ox", not due to his temperament or size, but because of his constitution; he had the reputation of being able to party the most of any of his band mates, even (especially) the legendary Moon. Many found the broad-shouldered bass-player intimidating, and he was often thought of as a larger man than he actually was (being about 6 feet even, the same height as The Who guitarist Pete Townshend).
4 Behind Pete Townshend, he was the second-most prolific songwriter in The Who. His songs were known for a dry sense of humor and insightful wit.
5 Played bass guitar, piano, trumpet and French horn
6 He was awarded the 1997 Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for Outstanding Musical Production of 1996 for Tommy, performed at the Shaftesbury Theatre with Pete Townshend.
7 Elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (as a member of The Who) in 1990.
8 Has one son, Christopher Entwistle.
9 Has claimed to be the best rock bass player living.
10 He was the bass guitarist with The Who (rock band) along with Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend and the late Keith Moon.

#Quote
1 He [Keith Moon] didn't play [drums] from left to right, or from right to left, he'd play forward; I've never seen anyone play like that before or since.
2 I can't stand rap....people who can't sing do rap....you can sing rebellion as well as talk it....Hitler would have been in a rap band.

#Trademark
1 Deep voice
2 Gibson Thunderbird Bass
3 Spider Medallion
4 Would wear military or police uniform tops on stage in the early days.
5 Calmly continuing to play bass onstage, whilst his bandmates proceeded to demolish their equipment.
