John Deacon Net Worth, Biography, Wiki 2017-2016

John Richard Deacon (born 19 August 1951) is a retired English musician, best known as the bassist for the rock band Queen. Of the four members of the band, he was the last to join and also the youngest, being only 19 years old when he was recruited by the other members of the band in February 1971. Deacon wrote a number of Queen's hit singles, including "You're My Best Friend", "Spread Your Wings", "Back Chat", "I Want to Break Free", and the band's biggest selling single in the United States, "Another One Bites the Dust", as well as a number of album tracks. He also played electric and acoustic guitars on several albums and, to a lesser extent, keyboards, synthesizers, programming and drums. He very occasionally provided backing vocals during live shows.Following The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in 1992, Deacon performed just twice with the remaining members of Queen, in a charity concert in 1993 and a one-off rendition of "The Show Must Go On" in 1997 with Mercury's friend Elton John (who had sung the track with the band at Mercury's tribute) at the opening of the Bejart ballet in Paris. He played bass on the final Queen song, "No-One but You (Only the Good Die Young)" – released that year on the Queen Rocks compilation – after which he retired from the music industry. He did not participate in the Queen + Paul Rodgers collaboration, in Queen's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, in Queen's performance during the closing ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics, or Queen + Adam Lambert collaboration. #Fact
1 Has written to Roger Taylor and Brian May saying that he supports anything they chose to do as "Queen," but has chosen to effectively retire from the music business. [September 2004]
2 Wrote the Queen Song "You're My Best Friend" in tribute to his wife Veronica.
3 Is the only Queen member not to sing lead vocals on any Queen track.
4 Queen was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 6356 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.
5 Inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003, along with fellow Queen members Freddie Mercury and Roger Taylor.
6 Was in charge of the bands finances.
7 His other main instrument was the double bass, which he played on Brian May's 1975 song '39. Brian had asked John to play upright bass as a joke. A couple of days later, however, May found Deacon in the studio with a double bass that Deacon had already learned to play. He also played the double bass on a music video for the song, "Who Wants to Live Forever?".
8 Last appeared on stage on the 17th of September, 1997, at the Theatre National De Chaillot, in Paris. There, with Roger Taylor and Brian May, performed "The Show Must Go On" (with Elton John singing) to close the Bejart Ballet's Opening Night Gala performance of "Le Presbytere N'a Rein Perdu De Son Charme Ni Le Jardin De Son Eclat." So far, this is the last time the surviving members of Queen have performed together.
9 Graduated with a First in Electronic Engineering from Chelsea College, University of London. Used knowledge to fix Queen's sound equipment in the early days.
10 He has performed with the SAS (Spike Edney's All Stars) Band.
11 Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001 (as a member of Queen).
12 His parents are Arthur Henry and Lilian Deacon.
13 Deacon has an electronics degreee from Chelsea College - London University.
14 John and his wife Veronica have six children : Michael, Robert, Laura, Joshua, Luke and Cameron.
15 Wrote the Number One smash hit song, "Another One Bites the Dust."
16 Was credited as "Deacon John" on Queen's first self-titled album. He hated this and got it changed to "John Deacon" for the next album onwards.
17 Bass player in rock band Queen.

#Quote
1 We tour for our own satisfaction and for the status of the band. It's a long term investment.
2 "I probably was the only person in the band who could get a look from the outside, because I was the last to join in. I always knew that Queen had something, but I wasn't very convinced. Maybe until "Sheer Heart Attack" album".

#Trademark
1 Invented a curious movement: he followed the rhythm kicking quickly on the floor while his body kept the beat leaning forwards
2 Bass guitar [Fender]
