#Fact
1 Her favorite memory of "Charlie's Angels" (1976) was when she and her costars Farrah Fawcett and Kate Jackson appeared on cover of "Time" magazine on November 22, 1976. She and Farrah had considered it a prestigious honor when "Time" magazine asked, but Kate balked at it, since the producers wanted them to give up their lunch hour to do it. She had frequently stopped the producers from overworking them and saw this as one more way for them to encroach on their personal time. She locked herself in her trailer with Farrah and Jaclyn and told the producers that the door was stuck and won't open. The three friends had their lunch together for 45 minutes, when the producers struggled to open the door and begged them to pose for "Time" magazine, which they did in the last 15 minutes of their lunch hour. She is the only member of "Charlie's Angels" who has appeared on the cover of "Time" magazine twice, since she did a solo "Time" cover while she was pregnant with her son for the February 22, 1982 issue.
2 She turned down the leading role in the James Bond film Moonraker (1979), because the shooting schedule would have created a conflict with "Charlie's Angels", a show that she was on for five years from 1976-1981. The role went to Lois Chiles.
3 Her granddaughter Bea was born on Sept 17, 2016 at 8:39AM at 8lb 8oz, whom she called "the brightest light".
4 Mother-in-law of actor Fran Kranz. (Her daughter Spencer Margaret Richmond married Kranz on August 15, 2015).
5 In 1976, she became close to Farrah Fawcett when they worked on "Charlie's Angels" since they had so much in common. They were both from Texas and both close to their parents. They remained close, even after Farrah left the show after just one year. They became even closer during the last 6 months of Farrah's life. Farrah had said to her, "I wouldn't have missed this time with you." After she died in 2009, Jaclyn wanted to go to her funeral but couldn't go because her own mother was on her deathbed. She said that "in my heart of hearts, I knew Farrah understood because she was close to her mom.".
6 She, Kate Jackson and Farrah Fawcett supported each other during their personal fight against cancer. She and Kate are both breast cancer survivors, while Farrah fought and lost her three-year battle with anal cancer in 2009.
7 Her "Charlie's Angels" costar Kate Jackson became her daughter Spencer Margaret Richmond's godmother in 1985. In 1995, Jackson adopted her son Charles Taylor Jackson, to whom Smith became a godmother.
8 She developed a reputation as the nicest angel of all six actresses in the "Charlie's Angels" cast, and adored by her fellow actors, producers, and fans.
9 Of all her TV roles, her personal favorite is playing the famous nurse Florence Nightingale in the 1985 television movie.
10 Her paternal grandparents were Russian Jewish immigrants. Her mother had English, and some Scottish, Irish, and Welsh, ancestry.
11 Is a Republican.
12 Billed to star in Always to be directed by Tony Richmond in a 1984 Cannon Group publicity brochure.
13 Ex-stepmother of George Richmond and Jonathan 'Chunky' Richmond.
14 Received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.
15 Occupied all three of the eponymous billing slots on Charlie's Angels (1976). In the first season, Smith was billed third, after Kate Jackson and Farrah Fawcett. When Fawcett left the series, Smith was billed second, behind Jackson. When Jackson left after the series' third season, Smith took top billing above Cheryl Ladd and Jackson's replacement, Shelley Hack.
16 Daughter of Margaret Ellen Smith.
17 Studied drama at Trinity University.
18 Graduate of Lamar High School in Houston, Texas.
19 To avoid a nasty and prolonged divorce suit, she agreed to pay her third husband, Anthony B. Richmond, $4 million for sole custody of their son, Gaston Richmond, and daughter, Spencer Margaret Richmond.
20 1998: The French musical group Air released the single "Kelly Watch the Stars", which is about the Charlie's Angels (1976) character "Kelly Garrett". In the video, one of the Air members is wearing a "Jaclyn Smith" shirt.
21 She was the only one of the three original Charlie's Angels (1976) not to leave the show. She stayed on during its entire 5 season run (1976-1981). She is also the only Angel from the television series to make an appearance in either of the movie adaptations. She made an uncredited cameo in Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003) as her original character "Kelly Garrett", offering advice to the new generation of angels.
22 Wears size 8M heels.
23 Childhood friend of actress Nancy Fox.
24 8/02: Underwent a lumpectomy and radiation treatment for breast cancer after a lump was detected during a routine check-up in July 2002. She did fine and joined the cast of The District (2000) this fall (2002) as Craig T. Nelson's love interest.
25 Her husband, Brad Allen is a pediatric heart surgeon in Chicago, Illinois.
26 Turned down the role of Gwendolyn "Gwen" Williams on the soap opera Titans (2000).
27 1990: Chosen by People magazine as one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in the World.
28 1985: Started her own line of clothing at K-Mart.
29 Children, with Anthony B. Richmond: Spencer Margaret Richmond and Gaston Richmond.

#Quote
1 I lose track of dates and times. Anywhere from 1982 on, I have it more in order. My son was born in 1982. My daughter was born in 1985. And then, other than that, numbers fly totally out of my mind. I'm not a number person. It's hard to keep track of all the projects I worked on. I sort of stay in the moment.
2 [When asked whether she met Kate Jackson and Farrah Fawcett for the first time during "Charlie's Angels"] No, I met them both before the show. I met Farrah on a Max Factor commercial, and we were each doing different things. And I just remembered thinking she's from Texas and we both loved our parents and we had a lot in common at that time. I remember thinking, "I like this girl," never thinking that we'd go on and be on a show together. It was just that we were two girls doing a Max Factor commercial who had a lot in common. I liked her. She was sweet. She was interesting. She wasn't the typical actress. I think part of our success was we weren't competitive or desperate for screen time. We liked one another. I met Kate again at another audition. She always seemed, when Farrah and I started the show, like she knew the ropes and she was sort of the leader, and she was. She was very bright, very articulate, very outspoken.
3 Farrah Fawcett had courage, she had strength, and she had faith. And now she has peace as she rests with the real angels. (On Farrah Fawcett's death)
4 I'm an old-fashioned girl, and I didn't believe in living with people, so I guess I married for the wrong reasons at times.
