She is a business woman, best known by being the chairwoman and the Chief Executive Officer of the international company PepsiCo. Indra was educated at the Holy Angels Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School and then enrolled in the Madras Christian College. She graduated in 1974 with a Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Physic and Mathematics. She continued on to postgraduate study and acquired a diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management Calcutta in 1976. She worked briefly for Johnson & Johnson in India as a product manager before she was accepted to the Yale School of Management, from where she graduated in 1980 with a masters degree in Public and Private Management. Soon after, her career began when she joined the Boston Consulting Group and later worked for Motorola and Asea Brown Boveri.

However, her net worth really began to increase when she joined PepsiCo. in 1994. In 1997 she led the successful dispossession of the Pepsi`s restaurants Tricon, which are now known as Yum! Brands. In 1988 she continued by acquiring the Tropicana. In 2001 she was responsible for bringing the Quaker Oats Company alongside Gatorade into Pepsi`s hands. Thanks to her successful ventures, Nooyi was named president and CFO of the company the same year. From that moment, the yearly profit of the company has risen to $6.5 billion, from where it stood before at the modest $2.7 billion. In 2006, Indra was named the Chief Executive Officer, becoming the fifth CEO of Pepsi in its history.
