Hugh Grant Net Worth, Biography, Wiki 2017-2016

Hugh John Mungo Grant was born on 9 September 1960, Hammersmith, London UK. Hugh is one of the most experienced, famous and popular actors worldwide, some of his most famous movies include “Four Weddings and a Funeral”, “Nothing Hill”, “Bridget Jones’s Diary”, “Cloud Atlas”, and “About a Boy”. So how rich is Hugh Grant?

So just how rich is Hugh Grant? Sources have estimated that Hugh’s net worth is $80 million, his wealth mainly gained through many years of acting and also from directing movies beginning in the early 1980s.

Hugh Grant Net Worth $80 Million

Hugh Grant attended the independent Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith, and New College, Oxford under a scholarship, graduating with honours in English literature. There he began his career as an actor in the movie called “Privileged”, and joined the Oxford University Dramatic Society where he continued to improve his acting skills. In 1987 Hugh received an invitation to act as one of the main characters in the movie entitled “Maurice”. After appearing in this movie, Hugh gained more acclaim and became recognized in the movie and television industries. In 1994 Grant acted in the very successful and popular movie called “Four Weddings and a Funeral”, which had a huge impact on his popularity and the growth of Hugh’s net worth. In 1999 he acted in another very popular movie, “Nothing Hill”, co-starring with Julia Roberts. Other movies and television shows that Hugh has appeared in include, “Top Gear”, “Doctor Who and the Curse of Fatal Death”, “The Rewrite”, “Music and Lyrics”, in totalover 40 films and more than 20 TV shows. All these appearances made steady contributions to Hugh’s net worth.

During his 30-year career as an actor, Hugh has been nominated for and has won numerous awards. For example, Golden Globe Award, Cesar Award, BAFTA Award, Teen Choice Award, European Film Award and others. Although Grant is acclaimed by many for his acting, he states that acting is just a job that he happens to work in. Despite this fact, we can admit that he is working in it very successfully.

If to talk about Hugh Grant’s personal life, he was in a relationship with actress Elizabeth Hurley for about 13 years until 2000, but they still remain friends. Grant has three children: two of them are from his liaison with Tinglan Hong, and his third child’s mother is Swedish TV producer Anna Elisabet Eberstein. At first it might seem that Grant is a real womanizer, but he takes care of his children, even if he is not romantically involved with their mothers. All in all, Hugh Grant is a very interesting and talented personality, who has gained a worldwide acclaim and success. Let’s hope that he will continue doing this.

As he has a lot of money, Hugh gives some of it away by involving himself in various charitable activities, being a Patron of the Fynvola Foundation, named after his late mother, which provides care for older learning-disabled people. He is also a supporter of Marie Curie Cancer Care. This only makes his fans like him more and adore him not only as an actor, but also as a very generous philanthropist. If Hugh continues working for a long time, there is no doubt that his net worth will become higher.

3 He had small supporting roles in two of Trevor Howard's last films, "White Mischief" and "The Dawning", both of which opened only after Howard had died. Grant was much criticized for telling an interviewer after Howard's death that the actor had been drunk throughout the filming of both films, and, on the latter, had been so advanced into alcoholism that he had been unable to stand up and even had had to be carried to the set.
4 Declined an opportunity to reprise his part of Daniel Cleaver in Bridget Jones's Baby (2016). His character was written out and replaced by a new love interest, Jack Qwant, played by Patrick Dempsey.

9 Became a father for the 3rd time at age 52 when his ex-girlfriend Tinglan Hong gave birth to their son Felix Chang Grant on 16 February 2013. Hong and Grant briefly reunited as a couple in 2012, after their short relationship, which was described by his publicist as a "fleeting affair", in 2011.

12 In 2010, film critic David Thomson wrote in "The New Biographical Dictionary of Film": "With his drooping chin and pouty lips, his quaff of hair and dithery manner, Hugh Grant seems like a refugee from Thirties theatre - or an incipient sneeze looking for a vacant nose".
13 Often described as a "golfing addict". He also can play cricket, soccer, tennis and snooker. He has stated that his favorite sport to watch is ladies' tennis.
14 His favorite films include The Way Ahead (1944), Zulu (1964) and The Party (1968).
15 His favorite female co-stars are Renée Zellweger and Sandra Bullock.

1 [on Elton John's marriage to his husband David Furnish] Groom Groom - Britain races into the future. Congrats Elton and David. Congrats enlightened UK.
2 I'm often asked why I keep banging on about the press. Am I a lefty? I'm not. I'm not a righty either. I drift.
3 [on Rupert Murdoch calling him a "scumbag"] Harsh. But I see where he's coming from.
4 [on why he is conducting a crusade to regulate standards for the British press] It certainly isn't a craving for attention. I trudge on to 'Newsnight' or 'Question Time', like Saddam to the scaffold. We beg them to use our professors, but they won't.
5 [on playing "the bad guy" in films] Now, I quite like it. For years I sat in these interviews and everyone said, "You're always Mister Nice Guy, why don't you ever play someone nasty?" So in fact it's been a relief to be . . . for the real me to come out more on camera. I don't have any particular burning desire to go back to being cuddly. Not really.
6 I think film acting's just a miserable experience. It's so long and so boring and so difficult to get right so that what you need above all is incredible willpower and strength of mind.
7 [on his screen fight with Colin Firth in Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004)] It was the same approach as the first one, which was just to make sure that it was as crap as we wanted it to be. The key is to stop the stunt coordinator from coming in to make it look like a film fight. We just wanted it to be two pathetic Englishmen scared of each other, throwing their handbags at each other, basically.
8 [his thoughts of actress Julia Roberts] Very big-mouthed! Literally, physically, she has a very big mouth. It is a very big mouth. When I was kissing her I was aware of a faint echo.
9 Women are frightening. If you get to 41 as a man, you're quite battle-scarred.
10 I've got four houses in my street. I live in two and the others are empty. I'll buy more as they come up, because I think it would be great to have the entire street.
11 I watch an awful lot of women's sport recently. I don't know what that means about me. I watch the women's golf. I watch the women's tennis very much.
12 I don't particularly like babies. I don't mind them for about four minutes. That's my max. After that I can't quite see what everyone's fussing about.
13 [on being called "posh" by the media] I do, kind of, want to ram their microphones down their patronizing throats.
14 Basically, my life is so boring, it's embarrassing.
15 I just don't believe in love at first sight any more, even though I've based my whole career on the concept. In my experience, power, money and influence always attract the opposite sex. It's something that I've always exploited - with good results.
16 I could do with more mobbing, particularly from women. I'd like to be treated like Ricky Martin.
