Howard Lutnick is the third child of Dr. Solomon Lutnick, a history professor, and Jane Lutnick, a sculptor and painter. After high school, Howard enrolled at Haverford College in Pennsylvania, when he got an offer in his freshman year of a full scholarship for his entire education. He soon started a friendship with Bernard Cantor, who was one of the founders of the company, hanging on his every word and learning from such a successful person.
