Before the start of 2005-2006 season, Boris was sent to the Phoenix Suns alongside two first round picks, for Joe Johnson. Soon upon arrival, Boris became a star of the Suns team, as he was used as an all-around player, covering all positions from point guard to center. In his first season with the new team, Boris averaged 13.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 1.0 blocks per game, which earned him the NBA’s Most Improved Player award.
