Douglas Reed Ellin was born on the 6th April 1968, in Merrick, New York City USA, and is a screenwriter, director and producer, probably best known for creating the comedy drama television series “Entourage” (2004 – 2011) aired on HBO. It is worth mentioning the fact that he wrote, directed and produced the film under the same name in 2015. He is the winner of Producers Guild of America and BAFTA Awards. Doug Ellin has been accumulating his net worth being active in the entertainment industry since 1993.

In 1996, he wrote and directed another comedy – “Phat Beach” – including stars Jermaine “Huggy” Hopkins and Coolio. In 1998, he directed and co-wrote the film “A Bride for Two” again starring David Schwimmer; other stars Jason Lee, Mili Avital and Bonnie Hunt were also part of the main cast. All these efforts contributed to his growing net worth.

Doug Ellin was already a successful writer, director and producer but he was looking for more, so he left New York and moved to Los Angeles, and started a career as a stand up comedian in comedy clubs including The Improv and The Comedy Store. To be honest, he failed to be successful in this field. however, after some time he decided to get back into writing. In 2002, Ellin was part of the team of scriptwriters of the sitcom “Life with Bonnie”. In 2004, he created his own series, “Entourage”, broadcast on HBO; produced by Mark Wahlberg. the series tells the daily life of Vincent Chase, a young promising actor in Hollywood. The series is noted for its impressive array of guest stars and its filming, rarely done in the studio.

Recently he has written the script for the upcoming Christmas black comedy crime film “Bad Santa 2”, directed by Mark Waters, scheduled for release at the end of 2016.
