Thanks to his skills, he earned a scholarship at UCLA(Los Angeles), so he moved there to continue his education, and football career as well, becoming a member of the Alpha Rho chapter of the Zeta Beta Tau fraternity. He played for UCLA’s team from 1992 to 1995, including a record 4.5 sacks in one game, against Southern Methodist University; Donnie won three All-America honors. Besides football, he also played in a baseball team in the position of center-field.

Donnie’s professional career began in 1996, when he was selected as the 98th pick overall in the fourth round of the 1996 NFL Draft, by the Kansas City Chiefs; he signed a rookie contract, which marked the beginning of an increase in his overall net worth. Donnie stayed with the Chiefs until 2001, when he became a free agent. During his time with the Chiefs, Donnie was the team’s leader in tackles. Soon after, he signed with the San Diego Chargers, and his numbers with the Chargers improved which led to his Pro Bowl appearance in 2002, and he was also selected for the All Pro team in 2002 and 2003.

In 2007, Donnie returned to the Kansas City Chiefs when he became a free agent, signing a new contract which also increased his overall net worth.
