Don Gummer was born on 12 December 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky USA, and is a sculptor, best known for his numerous free-standing sculpture works, often made from bronze, and various other materials. His first solo show was in 1973, and since then he has been featured in numerous galleries all over the United States; his work is also displayed at museums and group shows. In 1978 he married actress Meryl Streep and they have four children, including model Louisa, actress Grace, musician Henry Wolfe, and Mamie who’s also an actress. Streep describes their relationship as the “Perfect Odd Couple”; interestingly, they were married six months after the death of actor John Cazale with whom she had a serious relationship. Don has also mentioned that he has got used to the very successful acting career of his wife. Along with Meryl, he donates a lot of money to art organizations and educational institutions.
