Dave Matthews Net Worth, Biography, Wiki 2017-2016

David John Matthews, simply known as Dave Matthews, is a famous American musician, singer, record producer, as well as an actor. To the majority of people, Dave Matthews is perhaps best known as the lead singer of the popular rock band called “Dave Matthews Band”, often shortened as DMB. The band features Matthews, who sings and plays an acoustic guitar, a bassist Stefan Lessard, violinist Boyd Tinsley, a former saxophonist LeRoi Moore, who since his fatal accident in 2008 has been replaced by Jeff Coffin, and a drummer Carter Beauford. The “Dave Matthews Band” was formed in 1991 and ever since then has enjoyed success among its audience. Known for their worldwide tours and elaborate lighting shows, the “Dave Matthews Band” debuted in the music industry with their first studio album called “Under the Table and Dreaming”, which was released to highly positive reviews from both the critics and the audience.

Ever since then, the band has come out with seven more studio works, one of which, namely “Big Whiskey & the GrooGrux King” was the first album to be released after Moore’s death. DMB’s seventh studio work did exceptionally well on the market, as it debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold more than 424 000 copies during its first week. Considered to be the band’s best album to date, “Big Whiskey & the GrooGrux King” sold more than a million copies in the United States alone and received not only a Platinum certification but two nominations for Grammy Awards.

A famous musician, how rich is Dave Matthews? According to sources, Dave Matthews’ net worth is estimated to be an impressive $250 million. Needless to say, most of Dave Matthews’ net worth and wealth comes from his singing career.

Dave Matthews was born in 1967, in Transvaal, South Africa, but when he was two years old his family moved out to the United States, more particularly, to New York. During his teenage life, Matthews travelled a lot between New York and England before finally settling down in New York City. Matthews’ life was filled with many losses and tragedies that would later inspire several songs that he wrote for the “Dave Matthews Band”. Matthews lost his father in 1977 due to lung cancer, and almost two decades later experienced the loss of his sister who was murdered in 1994 by her husband. That same year, “Dave Matthews Band” released their debut album “Under the Table and Dreaming”, which was dedicated to Matthews’ deceased sister.

Even though Dave Matthews is best known as a musician, prior to his big breakthrough he was also an actor who mainly made appearances in theatre. As his acting career progressed, Dave Matthews starred in Adam Sandler’s “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry”, “You Don’t Mess with the Zohan”, “Just Go with It” with Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Kidman and Brooklyn Decker, as well as “Lake City” and “In the Woods”.

A popular singer and actor, Dave Matthews has an estimated net worth of $250 million.

#Quote
1 I hope it isn't entirely my songwriting but it may be. We've had a few songs that have done well on the radio but my songs don't 'test' very well when they test markets, so I guess that's what's happened. My songs are like a three-legged dog - you have to get to know them to have any love for them.
2 We just enjoy ourselves and I think the tightness comes from just knowing each other. No two takes in the studio ever sound the same either, when we're in there, so it's sort of the same thing. No two nights repeat themselves too much.
3 A guy and a girl can be just friends, but at one point or another, they will fall for each other... maybe temporarily, maybe at the wrong time, maybe too late, or maybe forever.
4 Good music is good music, and everything else can go to hell.
5 I go back to South Africa at least once a year, sometimes twice, and usually for a month. And probably, I'm guessing, I'll spend more time back there as I get older. South Africa gives me a perspective of what's real and what's not real. So I go back to South Africa to both lose myself and gain awareness of myself. Every time I go back, it doesn't take long for me to get caught into a very different thing. A very different sense of myself. It's a melting pot, southern Africa. You find these cultural collisions that result in art and music, and it's pretty amazing.
