Crystal was born the second out of four daughters of Gaylon Fussell and Jerry Wayne Bernard, who was a televangelist. At a very early age she became interested in gospel music, and later in acting while she was involved with Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas. After matriculating from Spring High School in Texas, she enrolled at Baylor University in Waco, Texas, from which she graduated with a degree in acting and international relations.

In order to pursue a full-time acting career, Bernard transferred to Los Angeles, California, where at first she took part in commercials. She debuted on the big screen in 1982, as Julie in Garry Marshall’s comedy movie “Young Doctors in Love”, followed by a role in one episode of the “Gimme a Break!” TV series. After briefly appearing in the “Fantasy Island” TV series in 1983, Crystal Bernard got her first, more notable role, in “Happy Days”, ABC’s sitcom in which she appeared as K. C. Cunningham in its 10th season. All these engagements provided the basis for Crystal Bernard’s net worth and also opened the doors towards a more prominent acting career.

Prior to her career breakthrough, Crystal Bernard starred as Amy Tompkins in the “It’s a Living” sitcom between 1985 and 1989. In 1990, she began appearing in what later became her most memorable role, as Helen Chapel in NBC’s sitcom “Wings”. She was a regular cast member of the series’ entire eight seasons-long run, ’til it was cancelled in 1997. In 2003, she appeared in one episode of the popular comedy TV series “According to Jim”, and doubtlessly, these roles have helped Crystal Bernard to massively increase her popularity as well as her net worth by a large margin.

Besides in series, Bernard has also appeared in over a dozen movies and TV movies, of which some more famous are, apart from those mentioned above, “Without Her Consent” (1990), “Miracle Child” (1993), “As Good as Dead” (1995), “Gideon” (1998), “The Secret Path” (1999) as well as “A Face to Kill for” (1999) and “Grave Misconduct” (2008). Crystal has also added several stageplay roles to her acting portfolio, including “Crimes of the Heart” (1999), “Annie Get Your Gun” (2001) and more recently “Barbra’s Wedding” (2005). It is certain that all these ventures have dramatically increased the overall size of Crystal Bernard’s wealth.

As a singer, Crystal Bernard has released two studio albums – “The Girl Next Door” in 1996 and “Don’t Touch Me There” in 1999.

#Quote
1 We actors have to be conscious of ourselves; there's vanity involved. There's a competitiveness. There's something that's not appealing to me about myself that I try to get away from. I'm constantly trying. To see that in others, that doesn't feel like home to me.
2 I knew that I did not want to be a statistic, that I wanted happiness within, and I wanted to be present because I knew what a great mover I was. I could move things and make things happen.
