At the time, the cast consisted of Flockhart, Greg Germann and Jane Krakowski, but included appearances from Hayden Panettiere, Lucy Liu, Jon Bon Jovi, as well as Regina Hall in later seasons. The show’s decline started during the third season, yet it picked up in viewership and ratings in the fourth season when Robert Downey Jr. joined the cast. “Ally McBeal” lasted for a total of five seasons, the last of which aired in 2002. A famous actress, how rich is Calista Flockhart? According to sources, Calista Flockhart’s net worth is estimated to be $24 million. Needless to say, the majority of Flockhart’s net worth and wealth comes from her acting career.

Calista Flockhart was born in 1964, in Freeport, Illinois. Due to her father’s job as a teacher, Flockhart’s family had to move a lot and, as a result, she had no choice but to attend various schools. To further her studies, Flockhart enrolled in the Mason Gross School of the Arts, where she met her future co-star in “Ally McBeal” Jane Krakowski. Calista Flockhart’s acting skills started to be noticed by the audiences and, seeing this as a career opportunity, Flockhart moved out to New York, where she attended auditions in hopes of getting a part. Flockhart’s efforts finally paid off in 1989 when she made her television debut in the longest-running television series “Guiding Light”, where she had a minor role as a babysitter.

Prior to her big breakthrough, Flockhart starred in “Naked in New York” with Kathleen Turner and Whoopi Goldberg, “Getting In”, and made her debut on Broadway in a play called “The Glass Menagerie”. In 1997 Flockhart landed the role in “Ally McBeal”, which turned her into a well-known actress.

After the show aired its last season, Calista Flockhart started working on other television projects and made appearances in “The Practice”, “Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child”, “The Last Shot” with Matthew Broderick and Alec Baldwin, and “Fragile”. Flockhart made her last appearance on screens in a drama series “Brothers & Sisters”, where she starred alongside Sally Field, Balthazar Getty, Sarah Jane Morris and Rob Lowe. The show lasted for five seasons and with a total of 109 episodes finished its last season in 2011. Since then, Calista Flockhart only returned to television to voice a character of Doris in an animated series entitled “The Penguins of Madagascar”.

1I got a call from a girlfriend in L.A. She was also an actress, doing what they refer to as "pilot season". She had read the script and she called me about it, and then I called my agent and he said, "Oh, yeah, I saw that and I passed". [Beat] And I said, "Oh, well maybe we should revisit it". So I did. I eventually flew out and screen-tested, and I got the part -- on how she got Ally McBeal (1997).
2No, honestly, I was quite intrigued by it. I thought it was smart! Obviously, it was symbolic of Ally's biological clock ticking away, and I thought, what a great way to do that. I loved the fantasy sequences; I loved that we got to see her imagination come to life -- on the imaginary dancing baby in Ally McBeal (1997).
3I don't think I ever felt that way. As an actress, you want to play many different parts, and you want to explore different sides of yourself. So in that way, yes, but never in a negative way. I took a break to be a full-time mom -- on taking time off after Ally McBeal (1997) ended.
4Personally, it was a good time for me to get back to work - my son started kindergarten, and he was gone for eight hours a day. So it felt like the right time for my family. I liked the material, and they put together an amazing cast. And I liked the political aspect -- on returning to TV in Brothers & Sisters (2006).
5For me it's mostly about the process, and once you shoot an episode, there's something anticlimactic about watching. I watched some of Ally. Sometimes I thought they were great and sometimes I couldn't bear watching myself. I have to watch it at the right time of day. I certainly can't watch a show I'm in before I go to bed. It would drive me crazy. -- on if she ever watches herself on TV
