BJ Penn Net Worth $22 Million

So how rich is BJ Penn? It has been estimated that Penn’s net worth is $22 million. The main source of this sum of money is of course his career as a fighter. Although he does not fight anymore, there is still a possibility that B.J. Penn’s net worth will grow in the future as he does some other activities.

Jay Dee Penn, better known as BJ Penn, was born in 1978, in Hawaii. From a very young age Penn was interested in Jiu-Jitsu. He first started training with Tom Callos and later with Bob Cooke and Dave Camarillo. Soon BJ Penn understood that he wanted to become a professional mixed martial artist. In 1997 Penn was trained by Ralph Gracie and soon became World Jiu-Jitsu champion. This of course added to Penn’s net worth. In 2001 Penn became a part of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, also known as UFC. He showed his good fighting skills and became acclaimed amongst others.

After some time BJ Penn started to work with the Fighting and Entertainment Group, and this caused some problems with the UFC. Despite some misunderstandings between the parties, Penn came back to the UFC in 2006. Penn again proved that he was one of the best fighters by winning some very important matches, which had a huge impact on the growth of B J  Penn’s net worth. Despite his many wins, Penn lost some matches as well. He has also experienced some injuries and this led him to him announcing an hiatus in 2011. After two years Penn came back and was a part of “The Ultimate Figther”. Despite his efforts, BJ lost some more fights and this time really decided to retire from the sport.

As mentioned before, BJ Penn is not only a professional mixed martial artist, but also an actor. He has appeared in such movies and television shows as “Never Surrender”, “Fighting Fear”, “Last Call with Carson Daly”, “Renzo Gracie: Legacy” and others. These appearances made BJ Penn’s net worth grow. He also worked on such video games as “UFC: Throwdown”, “UFC: Sudden Impact”, and “UFC Undisputed 2010”.

Lastly, it can be said that BJ Penn is one of the most successful mixed martial artists and Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. During his career, he has had an opportunity to fight with a lot of really good fighters and prove that he is considered to be one of the bests. There is no surprise that because of a successful fighter’s career, Penn’s net worth is so high.
