Amy Sedaris Net Worth, Biography, Wiki 2017-2016

Amy Louise Sedaris, born on 29th March 1961 in Endicott, New York USA, of part Greek (father) and British (mother) descent, and is an actress, comedian and writer as well, perhaps best known to the world for appearing as Jerri Blank in the TV series “Strangers with Candy” (1999-2000) and the film of the same name in 2005, and for lending her voice to Princess Carolyn in the animated series “BoJack Horseman” (2014-2016), among other roles.

Have you ever wondered how rich Amy Sedaris is, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Amy`s net worth is as high as $12 million, earned through her successful career in the entertainment industry. Apart from working as an actress, she has published several books, including “I Like You: Hospitality Under The Influence” (2006), and “Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People” (2010), the sales of which have certainly improved her wealth.

Amy Sedaris Net Worth $12 Million

Amy and her brother – famous humorist David Sedaris – were born to Sharon Elizabeth and her husband Louis Harry Sedaris. She grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, and while in high school she took her first job at the Winn-Dixie supermarket, however, she was fired apparently due to her mischievous behaviour. After that, she worked as a waitress at Zanies Comedy Club in Chicago, Illinois, but was also fired.
Amy`s acting career began after she joined a couple of Chicago comedy troupes, with a role in the film “Big Deals” in 1991, but took four years to secure a permanent role, joining the cast of the sketch comedy show “Exit 57” in 1995, with Stephen Colbert and Paul Dinello, and after that had several small roles in such films as “Commandments” (1997), and “Six Days Seven Nights” (1998), only to create and star in the comedy series “Strangers With Candy” as Jerri Blank, from 1999 until 2000. The role celebrated her as an actress and comedian as well, thanks to high praise by the critics. Since then, Amy`s name has appeared on cast crew in many popular films and TV series, which has only increased her net worth.

She started the new millennium with a guest role in the highly popular series “Sex and the City” (2002-2003), and also in 2002 appeared in the film “Maid in Manhattan”, next to Jennifer Lopez. She then featured in the Golden Globe Award-nominated comedy “School of Rock” (2003), with Jack Black and Mike White, then the same year starred in “Elf”, with Will Ferrell and Bob Newhart, then in 2005 reprised the role that put her on the Hollywood map in the film “Strangers with Candy”. Two years later she shared the screen with Kate Beckinsale, Sam Rockwell and Michael Angarano in the David Gordon Green drama “Snow Angels”, and until 2010 had roles in “Dedication” (2007), “Jennifer`s Body” (2009), with Megan Fox and Adam Brody, “Tanner Hall” (2009), and “Old Dogs” (2009), next to John Travolta, Robin Williams and Seth Green. All added steadily to her net worth.

Amy continued successfully into the new decade, with appearances in such films as “The Best and the Brightest” (2010), “Beware the Gonzo” (2010), and the TV series “The Heart, She Holler” (2013-2014). Also in 2013 she was selected for the role of Louise Laffer in the TV series “Alpha House” (2013-2014), and in 2014 secured roles in several comedies, including “Ping Pong Summer”, then David Cross` “Hits”, and John Favreau`s “Chef”, next to Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlet Johansson, which only increased her net worth.

Most recently, Amy appeared in the comedy “Ghost Team” (2016, and in the TV series “Thanksgiving” (2016). For the time being she works on the film “Handsome”, directed by Jeff Garlin, which will be released in 2017.

Amy has also ventured into voice acting; apart from giving the voice to the character from “BoJack Horseman”, she has also lent her voice to Jill in the animated film “Puss in Boots”, then to Gravity in “Space Buddies” (2009), and Cinderella in “Shrek the Third” (2007), among other titles, all of which also contributed to her wealth.

Regarding her personal life, Amy has never married, stating in numerous interviews that she never wanted to marry or have children. Nevertheless, she was in a relationship with actor Paul Dinello for eight years. Despite their relationship ending, Amy and Paul are friends today, and she is godmother to Paul`s child.

#Quote
1 I'm drawn to people who look different. I'm not exploiting. I'm not making fun of them. I'm drawn to them. We're all used to seeing pretty people. I want to see real people.
2 If I'm creating something for myself, then I want to have fun. I like to play unattractive people who think they're pretty. You can do what you want, but I prefer to look interesting.
